Project Description:
KCE provided the survey and engineering services required to design a block-long landscaped island with enhanced crosswalks and corner curbline extensions to create a more pedestrian-friendly situation within a major thoroughfare at the campus’s entrance. In addition to slowing vehicular traffic and providing a mid-crossing refuge for pedestrians, these improvements frame an attractive gateway into Moravian College. KCE also guided the project through the municipal approval process and performed the required construction stake-out survey.

Project Description:
KCE designed, coordinated, administered bids, and inspected the storm sewer upgrade beneath a railroad grade crossing and the replacement of the grade crossing with heavy-duty precast panels to accommodate a widened PA Route 100 near Interstate Route 78. Construction of this project occurred in one weekend around the clock, while Route 100 was completely detoured. Notable challenges were the timeline, unmarked abandoned utilities, traffic detour, and coordination between all parties including PennDOT, Township, Norfolk Southern, Regional State Police, and the site work contractors (the roadway was reopened ten hours before the construction-completion deadline).

Project Description:
Keystone Consulting Engineers (KCE) managed the coordinated effort to combine several Highway Occupancy Permit Projects together into one larger umbrella project and obtained the approvals from PennDOT and DEP. KCE served as the contract administrator and oversaw the construction of the improvements through its engineers, surveyors, and inspectors.

Project Description:
KCE developed this project and worked through the design details to obtain approvals from PennDOT and DEP. The significant project was constructed in four phases under KCE supervision in order to complete the improvements in a predetermined sequence. The project provided much-needed capacity to a major arterial corridor in Upper Macungie Township.

Project Description:
An intersection improvement project (traffic signalization with emergency preemption, roadway widening, curbing, sidewalk, ADA- compliant ramps, guide rail, landscaping, fence) developed by KCE, beginning with concept inception and continuing through design, permitting, bidding, construction stakeout, inspection, and construction completion. Notable challenges on this project included designing around a maze of utilities and accommodating bike, pedestrian, and vehicular traffic. This project had a major positive impact on the community as it provided bicycle and pedestrian access to the park while also increasing vehicular traffic safety by placing it under the control of a traffic signal.
