Project Description:
KCE designed and fully coordinated the reconstruction and armored lining of a 3,300 foot long, 20 foot wide and 5 foot deep drainage swale running through a medium density residential development consisting of approximately 75 homes. The existing swale had filled in over a period of approximately 30 years to the point, which caused adjacent homes to be flooded on a regular basis. Due to the success of this project and the creative engineering employed by KCE, it was profiled in the January/ February 2009 Edition of the Erosion and Sedimentation Control Magazine. Project Description:
KCE provided engineering design for an infiltration basin to control stormwater volume increases as a result of the park development. The plantings for this basin along with a mulch walking path were chosen to blend with the surrounding park as well as provide a path for people to learn about this facility. A NPDES permit for stormwater discharges was obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Location: Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County |

Project Description:
KCE performed the topographic survey, prepared the site development plans and the utility and rail designs, and secured all regulatory and municipal permits. In addition, KCE provided construction stake-out and construction management for the project. The project challenge was to transition the abandoned Bethlehem Steel Coke Works site through a series of twenty-five foot cuts and fills into a viable site for a rail/truck facility.
